The purpose-built two-storey facility provides 12 private ensuite bedrooms, shared dining and lounge areas centred around landscaped courtyards, dedicated family and counselling rooms, staff and clinical spaces, offices and support facilities. Every aspect of the building has been carefully considered to create a calm, low-stimulus environment that promotes wellbeing, recovery and connection through natural light, thoughtful design and contemporary patient-centred planning.
Centralised staff areas supported by technology-enabled monitoring improve visibility while maintaining patient privacy, creating a safer and more responsive care environment. The completed facility provides healthcare professionals with spaces that support high-quality, compassionate care while offering patients a welcoming, residential-style setting designed to encourage dignity, comfort and recovery.
Aluco worked closely with MOSSOP Construction + Interiors and ARCH Architects throughout the project's extensive design and coordination process to deliver the complete internal and external aluminium window, door and glazing package. Incorporating a range of high-performance Alspec framing systems, specialist security glazing, acoustic glazing and Invisi-Gard security screens, the project demanded careful planning and collaboration to meet the complex performance requirements of a modern psychiatric intensive care facility.
